How it all started...

As early as 2000, when online shopping was still in its infancy, the automation experts at KEBA, together with Deutsche Post DHL, thought about how the constantly increasing number of parcels could be managed efficiently and in a customer-friendly manner in the future.

KEBA already had well-founded, international experience with the automation of bank safe deposit boxes, in machine construction and security technology as well as in the area of payment solutions.

This allowed using already existing know-how as well as new ideas for developing the world's first parcel locker. A few months later in 2001, the first Packstation - called PAK1 - was set up and piloted at DHL in Germany - with lasting success.

Today KEBA has unique, valuable know-how from many different customer projects around the world and is the undisputed world market leader in the premium segment with 15,000 parcel lockers sold.
